We are 100% committed to protecting the privacy and security of our members and visitors to the Britain-Burma website.

We appreciate the need to respect your privacy and only use data you provide to enhance your website experience.

The Britain-Burma society cannot use your data for anything else without first asking you for your explicit permission to do so.

At no time will your personal data be shared with any third parties.

All visitor tracking, including Google, Facebook and any other tracking rely on anonymous trackers called “cookies”. These can be removed at any time.

Emails and Notifications

Where you have given us permission, we may contact you with email updates with meeting news and key changes to the Britain-Burma Society. If you no longer wish to receive any emails – you may request your email to be removed from further communication.

To do so:

  1. Login to your Britain-Burma Account
  2. Untick the option “Receive Britain Burma Emails”

In accordance with GDPR, Britain-Burma is required to provide all the personal details held about you within a timely manner. To request or remove your personal information, please contact Membership Secretary Barbara Brown to remove or edit your details (minnthameebrown@secretary.net)

Comments

When visitors leave comments on the website forum, we collect the data shown in the comments form and also the visitor’s IP address and browser user agent string to help spam detection.

Security

All transactions placed on britainburmasoc.org are completely secure – all credit and debit card details are encrypted and sent across a secure connection.

Britain-Burma does not store any credit card details.

In addition, security/private connections are in place across all pages across the website, including the membership sign-up page. This is usually depicted in your browser (Safari / Chrome / Internet Explorer / Fire Fox) with a padlock icon.
